Today on Veus en Xarxa we talk to David Loy about how to apply the wisdom of Buddhism to our Western world and global problems. Committing to conscious activism as a gift we give to the Earth, not knowing if we will get away with it, but convinced that we cannot stop doing what we feel is important.
“What do we need to do so that the Earth allows us to live on it in a healthy way?”
Hope is not the solution. My job is to do everything I can. And it comes to a point where I don’t know what the results of my efforts will be. Living in the present is feeling driven to act. What we do should be our gift to the Earth. And as with any gift we expect nothing in return. Therefore, what I do for the Earth is an act of trust, of love.
“If the Earth gets sick, we get sick. Because we are not separate from it.”

At Uniterra we explore what wisdom we need to advance in a change of civilization. We believe that it is a central issue that is not usually discussed, or is often confused with knowledge. We need to move from ecology to ecosophy : from human knowledge about the earth, to the wisdom of the earth itself that we need to listen to.
