Josep Maria Mallarach talks to us about how to re-root ourselves in the place and the Earth to which we belong.
We are currently in an antithetical paradigm of ecosophy supported by a very powerful technological machinery, and the health crisis is just one branch of the systemic crisis we are living in; and we must see it as a warning so that a greater one does not come. Faced with the indiscriminate use of new technologies, extreme prudence and awareness are needed that are currently within the reach of few communities. Surely the current crisis is due to the fact that we have paid too much attention to the material sphere without caring for or taking into account the other spheres (spiritual, cosmological, etc.). And this fact has even ended up worsening an aspect as material and as important as nature. This exercise is needed to return to the deep roots of our ancestors and reread what we know today in order to rebalance and have a more complete vision of life.
A deep sense of responsibility for the place, the conviction that we have more duties than rights, sacred responsibilities towards the place that hosts it, rethinking prioritizing common goods as opposed to private property, a quiet and humble life, self-sufficiency are some keys that should allow us to get back on the right track.
The great battle is within ourselves. The greatest enemy is within us. If we do not begin by transforming ourselves internally, we cannot transform the world. The external struggle should be a reflection of the internal transformation to overcome the bad patterns that we have incorporated. And this happens by making time for the contemplation of nature. If we do not have this supra-rational contemplative experience, we will hardly have the inner strength to change.

Voices on the Network is a series of dialogues around wisdom .
At Uniterra we explore what wisdom we need to advance in a change of civilization. We believe that it is a central issue that is not usually discussed, or is often confused with knowledge. We need to move from ecology to ecosophy : from human knowledge about the earth, to the wisdom of the earth itself that we need to listen to.
