Let’s talk about wisdom with Xavier Melloni

Veus en xarxa

We talk to Xavier Melloni about how to let wisdom emerge in crisis situations like the one we are experiencing. Is COVID-19 an enemy to fight, or a teacher to listen to? We all share a common destiny (…), everything I see outside is also inside me. And, in a way, the predatory behavior of COVID-19 mirrors our relationship with the Earth.

According to Melloni, wisdom is a form of knowledge that is different from the ordinary. And to reach it requires time and dedication that the vast majority of us do not have. We dedicate all our energy to controlling and dominating the immediate, the material and we move away from this more ethereal and spiritual wisdom. There is wisdom when a person participates in what they know. In this sense, the health crisis has made death visible and this fact, Melloni, wants to highlight since death is a positive change of stage to reach other levels of consciousness, which current society does not prepare us for. This is also wisdom. This taken to mysticism, means that everything we see is nothing more than a metaphor for what we do not see.

Voices on the Network is a series of dialogues around wisdom .
At Uniterra we explore what wisdom we need to advance in a change of civilization. We believe that it is a central issue that is not usually discussed, or is often confused with knowledge. We need to move from ecology to ecosophy : from human knowledge about the earth, to the wisdom of the earth itself that we need to listen to.
